A scuba diving medical fitness certificate not older than one year is required.
DSAT Tec 50
In this course, you will learn:
- how to operate equipment, plan dives and be trained for dives up to 50 meters,
- how to plan dives and dive on your own; repeated dives with decompression using a decompression cylinder with NITROX or oxygen to accelerate and increase safety during decompression stops.
- There are no time limits when it comes to decompression.
- How to handle techniques and basic procedures for moving to greater depths during technical dives.
In this course:
- you have a technical dive up to 50 m deep with a mandatory decompression stop,
- you use oxygen enriched air (NITROX) or oxygen for decompression,
- you use decompression software to plan your own dives,
- an instructor trains you for technical diving with independent decompression.
DSAT Tec TRIMIX 65
This course introduces the diver into the use of TRIMIX, which increases the depth limit for those who are already trained in the use of air, enriched air (NITROX) and oxygen in technical dives, thus moving the diving limit from 50 m to 65 m depth in open water, using the TRIMIX mixture, which contains an oxygen percentage of not less than 18%. During the training and course, the diver learns to assess and handle the problems that arise when using helium in the mixture at maximum depth and to plan dives with decompression using the TRIMIX mixture.
- Duration: 4 days
- Maximum depth: 65 m
- Number of dives: minimum 5
- Required certifications: Rescue Diver, DSAT Tec 50 Diver (or an equivalent certificate from another association) and proof of CPR Certificate and first aid awarded in the last 2 years
- Minimum age: 18
- Minimum number of registered dives: 100
DSAT Tec TRIMIX Diver
In this course, you gain extensive knowledge about the use of helium within a mix for deep diving. The program is tailored to technical divers who want to go beyond the limit of normoxic trimix, analysing multiple types of decompression software to create specific plans and decompression tables. During the course and training, the instructor will introduce the diver to the concept of a mixture of hypoxic trimixes. During the dive, the diver will also learn to handle multiple decompression cylinders.
At the end of the course, the participant will be qualified to dive to a depth of 75 m using several mixtures of TRIMIX: air, enriched air (NITROX) and oxygen. During the course, the equipment with an open system in the technical configuration and all the procedures necessary to handle the risks associated with this activity are used.
- Duration: 6 days
- Maximum depth: 75 m
- Number of dives: minimum 8
- Required certifications: Rescue Diver, DSAT Tec 50 Diver (or an equivalent certification from another association) or DSAT Tec 60 Diver (or an equivalent from another association), proof of CPR and First Aid Certificate awarded within the last 2 years.
- Minimum age: 18
- Minimum number of registered dives: 150
INSTRUCTOR DEVELOPMENT COURSE
The Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI) programme is a part of the PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC) – a cornerstone of PADI instructor education. The first part is the Assistant Instructor course, which accompanies the Open Water Scuba Instructor programme. The OWSI programme lasts at least four days: it introduces you to the PADI diving training system and it is designed to develop your skills as a professional diving instructor.
The challenging part is the effort you have to put in. The course requires acquisition of all the knowledge of self-study and daily preparation of assignments on class presentations. The magic words are organisation and dedication.
During the course, you will learn how to implement the PADI training system by preparing at least:
- two training presentations in confined waters,
- two presentations on capability development,
- one presentation of training in open water consisting of two exercises.
You will attend 14 hours from the curriculum:
- Course orientation
- Overview of the Underwater Materials Industry
- Standards and General Procedures
- The Role of the Media and Required Education
- Legal Liability and Risk Management
- Scuba Diver and Open Water Diver PADI Courses
- The Most Adequate Education
- PADI Continuing Education Philosophy
- Commercial Principles for a Diving Instructor
- Adventures in Diving Programme
- Segment-Specific Courses and Master Scuba Diver
- Rescue Diver Course
- Divemaster Course
- Programs to Keep Divers Active
- How to Learn RDP (must be completed by instructors who come from other course organisations for recreational diving).
Specialty instructor courses provide important didactic recommendations to become acquainted with the course props. You can choose from 27 courses on standardised specialties provided by PADI and the specific ones that your Course Director could provide. Possession of five Specialty Instructor Patents is a prerequisite for the Master Scuba Diver Trainer (MSDT) level.
Whether it’s ice, deep dives, photography, enriched air – Nitrox, PADI specialty instructors are not limited to diving and learning; they also have fun!
- As a PADI Specialty Instructor, you encourage your students to become Master Scuba Divers, which increases your market value as a PADI professional.
With only five PADI Special Instructor certifications, you are well on your way to becoming a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer.
Participation in Special Instructor training is recommended, as it provides valuable hands-on training, demonstration of techniques, marketing information and information on current PADI standards and, if possible, open water learning for instructors.
You must have:
- PADI Assistant Instructor certification or PADI Instructor certification pursuant to renewal and you need to have completed an IDC or Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI) programme within the past 12 months.
The PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer (MSDT) degree allows you to excel as a diving instructor by demonstrating your dedication to improvement and your willingness to help others continue their education. It gives you the opportunity to teach specialty courses – allowing you to have fun while you work.
As an MSDT PADI, you show the dive center owner that you have an excellent experience teaching diving and can teach a full range of specialised courses, making it easier for you to get a job.
As a Master Scuba Diver Trainer PADI:
- you teach the specialties you love the most,
- you enjoy watching your students progress, from the PADI Open Water Diver to the Master Scuba Diver,
- you increase your income with multi-level coaching,
- you meet one of the requirements to qualify as a PADI Master Instructor.
To qualify as a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer, you must:
- be a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor,
- have five specialty instructor certifications,
- certify at least 25 PADI divers.
As an IDC Staff Instructor, you will be able to participate in the creation of the next generation of PADI instructors and at the same time improve your competencies in teaching instructors.
- You become a master of diving theory and in the processing of learning presentations, whether academic or in closed waters, for instructor level,
- you participate in IDC as a staff member, not as a student.
You must:
- be a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer
- be at least 18 years old.
