Medulin<\/span><\/h2>

Once a fishing village, today a modern tourist center<\/b>, Medulin offers a dynamic and eventful vacation. Everything is subordinated to tourism.<\/p>\n

The summer months are the most fun here.<\/b> We have a bank, ATMs, post offices, doctor's offices, pharmacies, a fruit and vegetable market, a car wash, many shops, souvenir shops, jewellery stores, hairdressers and galleries. The entertainment is diverse, from discos that are open until the morning to beach bars and dancing terraces.<\/p>\n

In winter, athletes prepare in Medulin's nature, primarily divers<\/b>, football players and runners. The climate is ideal for winter training and preparation. The average daily temperature in January is 6.2 degrees Celsius<\/b>, which is suitable for sports and recreation.<\/p>\n

Our diving center is open all year round<\/b>, so you can dive into the underwater realm of silence with prior notice. You can also indulge in cycling, maybe go horseback riding or just walk through this predominantly flat landscape.<\/p>\n

In Medulin, an area with a fishing tradition, discover the delights of local cuisine \u2013 crab salad, black risotto or stew. If you prefer a meat menu, there is Istrian prosciutto, sausages and cheese, and if you like pasta, the perfect choice for you will be homemade fusilli pasta with veal stew, or perhaps aromatic specialties with the famous truffles.<\/p>\n

Head towards one of the seven islets of the Medulin archipelago \u2013 Ceja, Levan or Bodula\u0161 \u2013 where restaurants are located. Maybe you prefer an aerial view? In that case, there is a panoramic flight on a sports plane for you. Do not miss a chance to see the old windmills by the sea, the archaeological site of Vi\u017eula with the remains of Roman villas or take a walk to the Medulin Pond with ducks. The choice is varied, and it's up to you to choose.<\/p>\n

Medulin's unique sandy beach, Bijeca, which is one kilometer long<\/b>, attracts families with small children. Nature enthusiasts choose one of the two campsites where they will be protected from scorching sun by centuries-old pine trees. Young visitors will not lack entertainment and nightlife.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\t\t<\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Pula<\/span><\/h2>

Pula is only 8 km away from Medulin<\/b>, and there you can find the most famous and important monument<\/b>, the building from which every tour of the city begins and ends, the Pula Arena<\/b >. The structure in which gladiator fights were organised was built in the 1st century, during the reign of Emperor Vespasian, at the same time as the largest and most famous building of its kind \u2013 the Colosseum in Rome. It is elliptical in shape, with a major axis 130 meters long and a shorter axis 100 meters. There is a flat space in the middle \u2013 an arena, and the spectators sat on the stone steps or stood in the gallery. It is believed that the Arena could accommodate
\n20 000 spectators. It was built from local limestone, like most of the promenades in Venice. In the Middle Ages, the Arena was used for knights' tournaments and fairs. Today it is used for summer events: the Film festival, various events, concerts, when it can accommodate about 5000 spectators.<\/b> In the underground room, which was once used by the gladiators, a permanent exhibition \"Olive growing and viticulture of Istria in antiquity\" is set up today, enriched with reconstructions of machines for the production of oil and wine (mills, presses, settling vessels), and amphorae that served as packaging for the transport of oil and wine.
\nThe Arena is located outside the city walls of the old part of Pula due to its size and geographical configuration. The road that leads to the center and the city itself was constructed during Emperor Vespasian, after whom it was named \u2013 Via Flavia, which is still one of the main city roads.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\t\t<\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The Temple of Augustus<\/span><\/h2>

A temple in the Forum dedicated to the goddess Roma and Emperor Augustus. It was constructed between 2 BC and 14 AD<\/b> when Augustus died. Its shape is typical of a temple construction. The function of the temple changed: with the end of pagan antiquity, the basic function of the temple ceased, and it was used as a church, then for grain storage, and at the beginning of the 19th century, it housed a museum of stone monuments<\/b>. In 1944, it was hit by a bomb and almost completely destroyed. The reconstruction lasted from 1945 to 1947, and today it houses a small collection of ancient stone and bronze sculptures.
\nThe second twin temple, of which only the back wall has been preserved, is assumed to have been built at the same time and in the same style, and according to tradition, it is referred to as the Temple of Diana.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\t\t<\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Pula Observatory<\/span><\/h2>

In one of the most beautiful places in Pula, in Monte Zaro Park, there is the Pula Observatory, which offers not only a view of the sky and stars, but also of the city center and the Bay of Pula.<\/p>\n

The Pula Observatory was founded in 1869<\/b> as one of the departments of the Imperial and Royal Hydrographic Institute of the Navy (K. und K. Hidrographisches Amt) and is the oldest observatory in Croatia from which 28 planetoids have been discovered<\/b>, three of which have been named Polana, Adria and Istria.
\nThe view of the sky, astronomers tell us, is the most beautiful in the evening.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\t\t<\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Pula Aquarium<\/span><\/h2>

Pula Aquarium is located in the 122-year-old coastal Austro-Hungarian fortress Verudela<\/b> in the tourist resort of Verudela in Pula. It covers two floors, a tunnel and a trench around the fort. In addition to a few aquariums with different types of fish, from Adriatic to tropical, the Aquarium is known for a recovery center of sea turtles. The real spectacle is the release of recovered turtles into the sea.<\/b><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\t\t<\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Brijuni \u2013 a paradise near Pula<\/span><\/h2>

The Brijuni Islands or Brijuni archipelago are today one of the most attractive tourist destinations in Croatia. It consists of an island group off the west coast of Istria, which together with the associated waters was declared a national park in 1983.<\/b> They are only 15 kilometers<\/b> away from Medulin. The Brijuni archipelago consists of two large islands \u2013 Veliki Brijun (Large Brijun) and Mali Brijun (Small Brijun), and 12 smaller islets<\/b> with a very indented coastline that have been inhabited since prehistoric times. Brijuni are known for their very mild Mediterranean climate with a lot of sun and warmth and plenty of humidity in the air, which allows lush vegetation and a pleasant stay on the islands.
